New online forum to discuss SEND reforms
The Preparing for Adulthood team is excited to launch our new online forum from Monday 3rd February.
Each week we will look at an element of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) reforms and consider how it interacts with the reforms as a whole to create positive outcomes for young people with SEN and disabled young people.
The Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) team believes that it is vital to consider the SEND reforms as a whole when developing processes and plans in local areas however, we also appreciate that there are specific challenges related to each element. This forum gives you an opportunity to pose questions and raise challenges that you are experiencing in local areas as a result of getting ready to implement the reforms and to receive responses from regional champions, experts from the sector and the PfA team.
The theme for the first week is the Local Offer. Please post any questions and challenges which are causing barriers to you implementing this element of the reforms between 1pm Monday 3rd February - 5pm Thursday 6th February and we will arrange for responses to be posted to the forum by the end of the same week.
To make sure that local areas are well equipped to support families and young people we are particularly welcoming questions from professionals.
