The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities has produced a free interactive booklet and communication passport to help families transform the quality of life for their child with complex health needs or who is dependent on medical technology to survive.
Dimensions have made a film with some of the parents from the NDTi Better Lives Project. The parents' young people and children are all on their journey to adulthood. The families share their anxieties about what the future holds and how with a little bit of information and some good support they feel much more able to think and plan for the years ahead.
This project took place in three sites with families of children and adults with learning disabilities. The aim was to learn how to help people have more choice and control of their money and services.
This easy read booklet explores how you can help and support people who are unable to make decisions for themselves and are recognised under the Mental Capacity Act.
