Wider Support
We will work with local areas in England around supporting young
people in preparing for adulthood. We are currently developing
a menu of support and will be making contact with every local area
in England in the first few weeks of 2012.
We will organise a programme of events to enable peer to peer
learning between local areas.
There are existing regional groups that come together to share
information and good practice around transition. We are gathering
information about these groups that will be added here. In the
meantime if you have any questions about these groups please get in
touch.
Letters
Letters have been sent to all local areas about support from the
Preparing for Adulthood team.

Menu of Support
We have put together a 'Menu of Support', designed to support local
areas to be able to address Preparing for Adulthood's top ten
messages and start to look at the proposals in the SEN and
Disability Green Paper Support and Aspiration.
The menu contains workshops that the Preparing for Adulthood
team can provide. They are not set in stone. They can be adapted to
meet local needs and will evolve as we learn more from our work
with SEND pathfinders.
We will be holding five events around the county to help people
map progress and identify what further support is needed. We will
then be supporting local areas in clusters on identified
topics. Local areas will be encouraged to bring small teams
of decision makers and representatives from family forums.
